Hôtel Inn Design Paris Saint Quentin

It was handy for getting around Saint Quentin, though a long way from central Paris. The rooms were decent and clean for the price, but breakfast was exactly the same each of my three mornings, even if it wasn't bad. The receptionist didn't seem willing even to try speaking English or offer advice. It's a cheap hotel with cheap service, the common areas need maintenance, and there's no gym.

Some staff were nice, but the older man at reception was unfriendly and seemed impatient with guests. Getting to the hotel was frustrating: it's a long walk from Saint Quentin station, and I couldn't find a taxi there on the way back. One night I put money into the sandwich machine, but it malfunctioned and returned my change in coins. When I asked the receptionist for my money back, he rudely told me to count it again because I'd received €5, then said he could give the change in a different form if I wanted. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The restaurant was lovely and the food delicious, and the receptionists were friendly and helpful. Rooms had a modern design and a decent amount of space. There was also a free mini-gym with basic equipment like a treadmill, rower, bike and cross-trainer, plus a water fountain and TV. It's about a 15-minute walk to the train station and town centre along a relaxing path. I stayed a week ago and would definitely recommend the visit and stay again.

There are lots of shops nearby, and it's a 10-minute walk to the trains, even less to the velodrome. Staying here costs less than staying in Paris, and Versailles is just 2 train stops away. Get a Navigo weekly pass, it's well worth it 👌 The photo is of the fort nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean.
