Hotel Lapeyronie

The girls working there were doing a really good job, but the rest was the lowest level I’ve ever seen in a 3-star hotel. Reception closes at 9 pm, and when my flight got me in late, the manager wouldn’t open the door. By midnight I’d gone somewhere else. When I came back the next day, he said he had been there. I’m still waiting for the compensation they said they’d provide, with nothing so far. I couldn’t book another place, unfortunately, so I returned. If you have no other option, keep in mind the hotel is noisy and can be really cold. Change to another hotel if you’re on time!

We had a queen room on the second floor, perfect for a couple. It was clean, the breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. The air conditioning was cold, and the shower had excellent pressure and a temperature that could go from very hot to cold, with everything in between. It’s close to the hospital and tram, plus a little pizza truck that stays open late. There are a few differences from US rooms that travelers should expect.

The receptionist seemed to have no authority and had to call the landlady for every issue. The landlady refused to speak with us because she was busy with a bank meeting after 5 pm. Very irresponsible management. I was given a small attic room, unlike my workmates, who had rooms at the same time and price. I explained that low ceilings stress me out and asked to move, but they said the hotel was full. I offered to switch the next day when there would be availability, but they said they didn’t want to give this room to other guests.

It’s a very basic hotel. Its only advantage is being near hospital Lapeyronie.
