Country house Maison Cheval Blanc

Everything we needed was there, and our hostess was kind and helpful. We came away feeling completely restored after a peaceful stay in the countryside, with lovely hiking paths, charming villages, and nice cafes close by.

We found it very affordable, and the big garden with its pool and farm animals wandering freely was a real pleasure. It's a good place for a holiday with children, and comfort was fine. The rustic decor suits the building, though the rooms are dim and adding light would be hard because of its design. More light around the dining areas would've helped. The static-cooling fridge was no use during a heatwave, which caused us real trouble during our stay.

The hostess was super friendly, and there were lots of animals we could pet. We enjoyed the peaceful countryside setting, surrounded by nature, in these lovely holiday apartments in a converted farmhouse.

You really need a car to get here. It's a lovely, welcoming spot that's friendly to backpackers, and a great place to let young kids discover the farm and nature.
