Chalet Génépi

The chalets themselves were lovely, but our stay at Mont Amour properties was overshadowed by management’s handling of our deposit and complaints. We felt dismissed when trying to resolve things amicably, and left feeling that €238 had been taken from our deposit without good reason. We were charged €200 for a late checkout that we never requested or confirmed. We had only asked whether it was possible, and even shared the messages showing that, but management wouldn’t correct the charge. There was also a €38 charge for a broken wooden tray. At first we were told it was for a board that fell during check-in while one of their employees was there. The explanation later changed, but the charge still seemed opportunistic and unreasonable. We were billed €100 for cleaning despite leaving the property in good condition. We ran the dishwasher, wiped surfaces and tidied up, but management overstated the condition to justify the fee. They also suggested we had broken house rules, such as hosting parties, without evidence. That felt unjust and unprofessional. The properties are well maintained, but these excessive charges and the way the dispute was handled badly tarnished what should have been an enjoyable stay. I strongly advise future travelers to think twice before booking with Mont Amour properties. I hope the company adopts fairer practices.
