Sitting in the garden and taking in the surroundings is a real treat. The hotel is beautifully positioned on the River Loire, with a fairytale mini-chateau opposite, and the views are marvellous. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard, though the rooms and bathrooms are small. We thought it was overpriced compared with other places, and wondered if the view was part of the reason. The 30€ per room per day cancellation charge within a month of arrival also seemed steep. On a rainy day in June, the only dining area was outside in the pouring rain, so we had to trudge to the village to find a cafe. The underground breakfast area was unusual and made for a good start to the next day.

The hotel has lovely countryside views and sits behind the chateau, set back from the main road. It's a charming traditional place, with a mix of very old and new parts. The floorboards creak and the ceilings are low. I bumped my head once on the stairs, which was hilarious. There didn't seem to be a full-time receptionist, but staff are on call when you arrive and you use the phone on the desk. Breakfast is basic, with bread, croissant, jams, and tea or coffee. In France, coffee is the obvious choice. For dinner we went across the road to a restaurant that seemed connected to the hotel, though you can't put the meal on your room bill. I'd highly recommend the hotel and would stay again.

It's a very historical building, and the room had a fantastic view of the castle. The restaurant had a great view too. The owner kindly kept a device we forgot in the room and returned it to us, something we're forever grateful for 💓 WiFi was challenging, whether using it or 4G/5G, perhaps because of the stone walls. Would recommend :)

Beautiful hotel with stunning views and comfortable rooms. I'd get breakfast elsewhere, since it costs a lot for what you get.

The restaurant was the only downside, it was too expensive for what we got. I loved the room overlooking the chateau, and having breakfast in the cave room was lovely too.
