Hôtel Morangis Orly

The rooms were okay, but the staff's attention was incredible. They helped with everything we needed and were flexible and adaptable. We managed to communicate even though we don't speak French. Breakfast was nice and there's a really big parking area. An Uber to the airport cost around 10-15€. Recommended👍🏻

Breakfast was better than I expected, and if you aren't fussy about details, this could be a good hotel. I stayed for a week, though several things bothered me. The room was very dark because the lighting was poor, so I had to leave the blackout curtain open to get light. The windows faced a hallway where people were constantly walking, and that made me feel unsafe. There were tea and coffee supplies, but only paper cups, and the kettle was old and broken. The do not disturb sign didn't prevent the housekeeper from trying to come in three times. Sometimes the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which I really hate as a non-smoker. The staff seemed a bit lost and had trouble with both check-in and, apparently, check-out.

The restaurant at the hotel was closed, and because it was Sunday the local restaurants were closed too, so there was nowhere to eat. The woman who checked me in wasn't very friendly. My airline had sent me there after a flight cancellation due to a strike, and I felt unsafe both at the hotel and in the area. The electric shutters on the outside of the windows seemed intended to keep people out, which added to how unsettling it felt. I was lucky to find a flight from CDG that night and left in such a hurry I didn't check out. I was glad to spend eight hours waiting for my new flight at the airport. I don't recommend it.

I handed over my passport at check-in for a one-night stay, but they forgot to give it back with my room key. I had to call the next morning before they returned it. They didn't have the courtesy to call me about such an important document. Thank goodness I hadn't gone to the airport, or I would have had to come back for it.
