Chilly Powder - Hôtel au Coin du Feu

The breakfast was fabulous, especially the shakshuka, which was the best we’d ever tasted. Staff were so warm and friendly, and we loved the room’s double doors opening onto a patio. It was a cozy place, and we only booked for a night but could happily have spent a week. The unexpected ice hockey theme was a fun surprise for my boyfriend, who used to play competitively. After a long day mountain biking, the hot tub was just right. It’s a little outside Morzine town, but that wasn’t an issue with our car. We’d definitely return.

As a non-skier, I still had plenty to do, with hikes, shops in Morzine, luge, and e-bike rental all easy to get to. I eat plant-based and have never been looked after so well. The food at mealtimes was outstanding for both its range and quality. Our group of nine middle-aged friends, some skiers and some not, spent five nights in the cozy chalets. They were spacious, well equipped, and well maintained, and ours had a hot tub. Paul and Francesca’s welcoming team provided a very high standard of service. Paul and Francesca were around in the evenings to chat with us and other guests, and made us feel special. I’ll definitely come back with my family. Thank you to them and the Chilly Powder team for a fantastic stay.

We didn’t bring our children this time, but it was clear how well Chilly Powder makes a relaxing ski holiday possible for parents with kids. I can’t wait to return with my four-year-old. The hot tub was never too crowded, and I also had a wonderful massage in the yurt. Both felt like real treats after a hard day on the slopes. The place has that home-from-home feeling, and I haven’t been this relaxed in years. The beds were so comfortable, the food incredible, and the owners and staff are first class. It’s a short stroll down to the Prodains Cable Cable Car. Francesca and Paul were such warm hosts, and you can see how hard they work. We had an incredible long weekend, and I can’t wait to come back. Huge congratulations to them for what they’ve created.

The hotel and chalet were comfortable and welcoming, with delicious food and beautiful surroundings. It’s only a short walk to the Prodains express cable car for Avoriaz. We’ve just come back from four nights and had amazing hosts and a wonderful stay. If I could, I’d give them 10 stars. Looking forward to returning in June to see what it’s like in summer.
