Les Colonnades

Our summer stay here was shocking, and we left feeling that our vacation had been ruined. We booked for 20 days because the guesthouse was presented as baby-friendly, and we had made it clear when booking that we would bring our 11-month-old son. At first the hostess seemed friendly, but her manner changed when he cried in the morning. She explicitly told my wife and me to leave if he cried again, saying that other rooms were now filling and we were no longer alone. She wanted us out by 9:00 or 9:30 a.m. if it happened. We were stunned, but agreed to follow that rule. It soon became a nightmare. The lady of the house seemed barely bothered as we hurried down the stairs early each morning and waited in a nearby public square until 9:30. After doing that three times, we were worn out by these forced departures. We cut the trip short to go home and rest, and our host refused to refund the unused nights. We couldn't get our money back. It was shameful, especially after booking such a long stay. She also tried to make us feel guilty for supposedly driving people away from their home, which was utter nonsense and a complete delusion. I won't dwell on the limescale crumbs as big as bedbugs that haunt the bottoms of their tea kettles, or on her cheerfully smoking cigarettes in an enclosed area right in front of a baby. The travel cot and high chair promised at booking were there, but looked like something from a horror movie, as the photos show. If you come across this in time, run away!

Fanny made us feel right at home, thank you! The accommodation is in a quiet village, 8 km from Narbonne. Breakfast is included, the rooms are large, there's an indoor pool, and dogs are welcome too.

We left straight away and never stayed. When we arrived, the guesthouse lady seemed completely drunk and fell twice. My wife picked her up both times. There were big black flies all over the floor, and the room had already been used. I think the place should be shut down immediately. We left before we caught an illness!

We had a very pleasant stay, and Fanny took excellent care of us. She's a lovely lady. We'll be back!
