They paid excellent attention to us.

The rooms were spotless, and it works well as a hotel for hikers. Breakfast was a little disappointing, though still acceptable, while the bar and other extras felt pricey. It also didn't quite match the two-star hotel it was first advertised as. One thing to watch for: staff may tell you La Picherotte is fully booked and steer you toward BeauSite, the restaurant they partner with, which costs quite a bit more.

There are lots of lovely, varied hikes you can set off on from the hotel, and you can swim in its pond too. This is a charming little village hotel run by a family, with a very friendly welcome. The owner's godfather runs the restaurant next door and is an excellent chef. The regional food is high quality.

The hostess looked after us really well, and the meals at the restaurant were great. It's a beautiful spot and a great hotel for hiking around the region.

The room needs renovation, and breakfast wasn't worth €12: bread, rolls, industrial cake, and only grapes for fruit. The welcome felt forced, and nobody said goodbye. In short, it's easy to find somewhere better.
