After a long drive, this turned into a terrible experience. The air conditioning leaked water over the table and floor all night, which was a safety hazard, and it didn’t work. My parents’ room also wasn’t suitable, since the bed was pushed up against the wall. When we arrived, we were told we didn’t have a ground-floor accessible room, even though that was the room I’d booked online. The receptionist was quite rude when I explained this, and asked to see the booking as if I were lying. Since my mum uses a wheelchair, they moved things around and gave us one room downstairs, but the other was on the second floor.

I’d been glad to use these hotels before, but after last night’s experience I’m not sure I’ll stay with them again. On November 27, 2022, I tried to book through the Ibis website app, but something went wrong. I drove to the hotel instead, only to find the car entrance locked. I left my car outside in the dark and went in, but nobody was at the counter. Reception was staffed only until 9 pm, and the self-booking machine wouldn’t let me book for that night. I went elsewhere. It was a disgusting experience. Earlier, I’d described the staff as sweet and the breakfast as very good, and the hotel seemed fine for one night.

A budget place for one night, and all I needed was a comfy bed and a hot shower.

I’m not reviewing the hotel itself because I never saw it. I’d stayed in ibis hotels on my trip and they were fine, so I tried booking another through Google Maps. After I entered my dates, it sent me to the hotel website, where the dates changed without me noticing or expecting it. I ended up booking for a completely different month. Watch out for that jump from Google Maps to the website.
