Hôtel du Parc

We booked the wrong night by mistake and noticed two hours later, then tried to cancel. Reception said there would be no refund because the booking was non-cancellable, even though only two hours had passed. They gave me an email address for the manager, but I’ve tried twice and haven’t had any reply. It seems my money matters more than customer service. I wonder if anyone will respond to this review, given the silence to my emails.

We spent a week here recently and loved it. The hotel is comfortable and friendly, perfectly placed in a gorgeous seaside town. Our room was clean and comfortable, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, and the pool was great. The staff were helpful and friendly. We’ll be back.

Once the food arrived, it was very good, and the menu sounded nice. But the service in the dining room was shockingly poor. We had booked a table through their sister hotel, then waited nearly 20 minutes after sitting down, despite politely asking for service. There were clearly too few staff for the number of diners, and getting the bill took another 15 minutes. This is a modern golfing hotel, but I can’t recommend the dining experience.

Our plans for my mum’s special birthday night away had been disrupted by an unexpected restaurant closure at Chateaux Clery, where we’d come especially to celebrate. The owner was very helpful and moved our booking to Hotel du parc. Our twin room was spacious and modern, with a lovely balcony. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant, and the glass of champagne was such a kind gesture that we were very grateful. Mum had a lovely birthday. We’d happily return to both Hotel du Parc and Chateaux Clery once the restaurant is running again. Thank you for a lovely stay!
