Au Faisan Doré

The family room was roomy, with a very clean, pleasant bathroom and a lovely view over the River. There was a festival on the day we arrived, with lanterns, a music parade and fireworks, which made the evening a real joy. We ate at the festival, so didn't try the restaurant, though it looked very popular. We'd only planned a one-night stop, but the hotel was a lovely surprise. The location was great and the staff were nice. I'd consider staying for longer next time.

A handy, well-placed hotel with a really good restaurant. There's plenty to do here if you're staying beyond a quick overnight stop.

The people here are so welcoming and clearly care about what they do. Breakfast is served indoors, with a buffet for salad and cutlery, plus staff bring a bowl of bread and small sweet tarts, muffins and homemade bread. The pool is nice, and the internet is available. Good value for the money. The hotel sits beside a fairly big river where you can spot kingfishers and trout. There's a restaurant with outdoor seating serving typical French fast food.

The team were lovely throughout and made us and our dog feel welcome. They spoke English, while we felt a bit embarrassed about how little French we knew. Dogs were welcome in both the hotel and restaurant, which mattered most to us, and there was parking. We stopped here on the drive from England to Turin, but the little hotel, bar and restaurant right on the bank of the Ain river would have made a great destination in their own right. Dinner was excellent, and breakfast was just as lovely, with a generous spread and great pastries. Can't recommend the place and its location enough.
