Sologn'ami

We slept very quietly in the cottage at the back of the courtyard, away from traffic. In the morning we could hear the rooster and ducks, with donkeys and horses nearby. The room had everything we needed, including a private bathroom with shower and toilet, plus towels and soap. Dogs are welcome. Just right for a night on the way to our holiday destination.

The gîte is an easy drive, about 15 minutes from Vierzon, and the countryside around it is peaceful. There’s a pond with ducks and geese, and the rooster’s morning crow seemed to be just for our room. It was a lovely change of scenery over the November 11th long weekend. Our room had its own entrance beside the spa and gym, so we could come and go without disturbing the very friendly host. We didn’t get to try the jacuzzi, though it looked large, lovely, and relaxing. Breakfast was French style, just right for us, and we enjoyed sharing it with the host and other guests. Thanks again to our host. We’ll come back if we’re in the area.

The owner was attentive and accommodating, and breakfast was generous. Our room was quiet, well equipped, and had a lovely view over the countryside. We had a very pleasant stay, and it’s a great place to visit the Sologne region.

The rest of the place was nice, but Neuvy is pretty remote, far from everything. We booked a room for two through Smartbox and asked for two beds if possible. The extra bed was €13, and we ended up in a small room. The jacuzzi costs €19 per person, with no prices displayed, and payment has to be in cash. A shame.
