Le Chalet d'en Hô

The location is wonderful, with lovely views and plenty of cross-country skiing and hiking nearby. Our room was cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had been recently renovated. We ate very well too, with tasty organic local ingredients cooked with care. The hosts made us feel welcome and shared loads of helpful information. Even on our first visit to Chalet d'en Ho, it felt like seeing old friends. We're already thinking about coming back.

The people running Chalet d'En Hô really made this trip memorable. Didier, Agnès and Valérie took turns welcoming guests and sharing their knowledge of Nevache and the Clarée Valley, from local history and folklore to wildlife, plants, and weather. After more than 20 years at the hotel, they know the area inside out, and their affection for it comes through. The staff were charming and polite, and spoke good English. We'd visited Nevache several times before and knew the village and the Clarée river valley from self-catering trips, but staying here gave us a new experience. Every meal was delicious, expertly prepared with local produce and gourmet ingredients. We loved relaxing by the fireplace in the lounge, and our charming room had traditional alpine decor and a balcony over the haute vallée, where we could watch the sunrise. It's a lovely traditional half-board hotel in a beautiful Alpine valley. We'll be back in summer to see the wildflowers, which are meant to be spectacular. A truly memorable holiday, and a great discovery.
