The owners restored this place with so much care, and every detail feels considered. The rooms are tasteful, beautifully furnished and spotless, with lovely linens, a comfortable bed and a luxurious bath. Breakfast was delicious, and they even showed us how to take the top off a perfectly soft-boiled egg. We’ll find a reason to come back.

The food was great, they really know how to feed you, and I had the pool to myself for six days before other guests joined us. The staff and bosses were brilliant. They sorted out a small problem in our room, and the night staff let me in when I didn’t have my key because my pissed-up mate had it. He wasted the next day of his holiday until 2.30 in the afternoon, and we weren’t happy with him. I’d definitely return to the same hotel. If I went back to Bulgaria, I’d go before they join the euro exchange.
