The room was quiet and had everything I needed, with a big comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. The reception staff were friendly, and the online pre-check-in made both arrival and departure quick.

Breakfast was very good, with a lovely view of the magnificent Loire. Parking was easy, and the centre and plenty of restaurants are an easy walk away. I got a really friendly welcome, and the staff member at checkout was just as nice. The room was spacious and very clean, though a little old-fashioned. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated having two chairs. I’d definitely stay again.

The air conditioning was really bad, and the fridge was too. There wasn’t a refrigerator in the room before I complained. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I go on vacation every year, and this one was such an inconvenience.

I was really disappointed by the restaurant. The menu was very limited, and the fish I ordered looked so unappetising that even though I usually eat everything, I couldn’t enjoy it. The bread rolls were cold and rock hard. Breakfast wasn’t much better, with other people’s leftovers all over the tables and nobody cleaning them for us. The room itself was excellent, with a lovely river view, and the ladies cleaning in the morning were very friendly. It was easy to find the hotel, and parking was good.

I wish I were exaggerating, but I’m not. The rooms are very old, and the food is frozen and really poor. Choosing a Mercure might seem like a safe bet, but that wasn’t my experience here. This place is just sad. Avoid it if you can.
