The location made getting to the tram and the old town really easy, and we were warmly welcomed when we arrived. We stayed four nights and enjoyed ourselves, even though the hotel clearly needs attention. Our room was clean, but the bathroom had mold and could use an update. The third-floor corridor was very dark, and its stained carpets need replacing. There was only one balcony chair for the two of us. When we asked reception for another, the manager said no without explaining why. We also had very little toilet paper supplied. The shower water kept turning cold, so we had to leave time between showers to get hot water again. Since getting home, I've seen reviews going back years that mention the same problems. The director has apparently apologized, but things still don't seem to get fixed. A shame, because despite the need for a fresh coat of paint and other TLC, we had a good stay.

The location is the standout, right by the beach and old town, with a tram for getting around the wider area. We found the room clean enough, and the bathroom mold and single toilet roll weren't deal breakers for me. The other problems made the price hard to justify. The pool had been closed for almost a year when we visited, and we weren't told before the stay. Laundry cost €7, but after more than an hour the dryer had only made our wet clothes warm and still wet. We ended up hanging things over balcony chairs, leaving nowhere to sit. Other reviews mention the machine too, but there was no notice about it. Hot water also cut out regularly, even during two-minute showers, leaving the next person with cold water partway through. Weekend reception was unattended for two hours around lunch. New arrivals weren't given any notice, so we had to explain the situation to people who couldn't check in. Cleaning also costs extra, and they may charge if they aren't happy with how you've cleaned the kitchen.

The receptionist was lovely and really helpful, even finding filter papers for the coffee machine. There was also an excellent boulangerie on the street behind the apartment, which was a nice surprise. The room itself was fairly basic, but had what we needed for simple self-catering. We only spent one night there. If I stayed longer, I'd choose a room with a balcony.

The location was good, but the place needs a serious remodel. The carpets were filthy, and the lobby needs painting, especially around the elevators. The balconies and other back areas need a proper professional clean too. There's a lot to improve.

We paid over €120 a night and were told to take one-minute showers after the hot water ran out in about five minutes. The receptionist blamed a previous guest's late checkout and got rude and defensive instead of simply apologizing. The next day, the washing machine worked, but the dryer didn't. They wouldn't return €2 so we could try drying our clothes again. First they said they needed to speak to the manager, which never happened, and when we brought it up again they flatly refused. Then part of the bathroom ceiling started falling down. My girlfriend reported it, and reception said a technician would come while we were out the next day. Because we'd read reviews saying guests' belongings had been stolen before, we weren't comfortable with that. She asked if the technician could come after checkout, but he told her no, the technician comes when he wants. Less than ten minutes later I went down and said we weren't comfortable with anyone entering. The same staff member replied, “Of course Sir, no worries.” We didn't know what to make of it, but it sounded remarkably like blatant sexism. I've never experienced that at a hotel. Absolutely shocking. The rooms were run down and not very clean, and the price was ridiculous for what we got. Don't stay here. Terrible service and old rooms.
