We liked the location and were lucky to have a balcony, but that didn’t make up for the issues inside. The sockets by the bed only worked when the lights were on, so we couldn’t charge our phones overnight. The shower was cold, sometimes wouldn’t warm up at all, and had a few missing floor tiles. The Wi-Fi was pretty bad at times too. My partner and I enjoyed the stay, but several things about the room felt strange or bothered me.

The location is the only real plus, between the train station and the beach. Everything else made for an awful stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or return. In room 12 there was only one usable plug. The table lamps didn’t work, only the main room lights did, so reading at night meant leaving all the lights on. The shower barely drained, and during my three days I had to wash quickly to stop the bathroom flooding. There was no Wi-Fi, despite the hotel advertising it and earlier booking feedback mentioning the problem. We had to work from a coffee shop. We expected at least some improvement or basic service, but there was none. Room service meant changing the hand towel, with no replacement shampoo, soap, or bath towels. The pillows were two bags stuffed with cotton. The TV was just a MAC sitting opposite the bed with a keyboard and no function. There was nobody around to mind luggage after checkout, and no one ever seemed to be there. Need shampoo or soap after 5 p.m.? Good luck. You can’t get decent Wi-Fi or sleep if you need proper pillows, and showers have to be kept under five minutes. Your phone has to be plugged in far away, and the table lamps are just decorative.

The service was what made our stay. The staff took extra care with every request, concern, and little issue, and I told the owner as we left, "I will be back!" I definitely will. We’d never been to Nice, so I was cautious when choosing a hotel, but we were very pleased with this one. It’s a small boutique hotel with a relaxed feel and a welcoming lobby. Our room was clean and had comfortable beds, a computer, and a balcony.

I contacted them politely a few days after finding carpet beetles in the bedspread or blanket. They refused to refund me, said I was lying, and threatened to sue me for defamation. I guess I’m getting sued.
