Emma's Guests House

Emma was so kind and thoughtful about what a guest might need. I’d honestly call this the best guesthouse I’ve stayed in for a while. I left my charger at her place and she sent it back to me. I’ll definitely stay at emma's again!

For 150 euros a night, I’d tell people to find a hotel instead. The room is tiny, there’s no air conditioning, and summer nights were unbearably hot. There’s no lock on the door, and the space isn’t separate or private. The landlord lives downstairs and seems able to enter your room whenever she wants. She has lots of rules, including not letting guests use her kitchen, which I don’t think is reasonable. Most kitchens are shared, and at the very least you’d expect to use a microwave or keep food in a fridge. I missed that detail before booking, and it led to a series of conflicts. If you need a fridge, choose a hotel. For the same price, any hotel would be better and provide disposable things like cups. We weren’t allowed in the kitchen, but food was left exposed to the air there, apparently for everyone staying. That didn’t seem like a normal or sanitary way to store it. I can’t think of anything good about this B&B. You have to put up with her rules, and the hostess is difficult.

The owner was fantastic, and breakfast was enormously delicious. A remarkable place!

Our welcome was so warm, and the hostess shared lots of useful information and recommendations for Nice. She also puts on a very original breakfast that we’d highly recommend, and encouraged guests to spend time together, just what you hope for at a B&B. The room was charming, a good size, and spotless, with a private bathroom and comfortable double bed. The accommodation was exactly as pictured, on the top floor with elevator access. It’s in a lovely, very central neighborhood, so we could walk everywhere. We couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay.
