Villa Mon Rêve

The studio was quiet and had air conditioning, a comfortable double bed, an equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. It’s in a beautiful studio apartment in a charming villa, about a 10-minute walk from both the beaches and the airport, with a tram nearby. Highly recommended.

The location was okay: the airport and train station are within walking distance, and the beach is a 10-minute walk away. The center of Nice is a few kilometers off, and there was constant aircraft noise. The owner wasn’t there when we arrived or left. The bed felt quite small for two, the shared bathroom was at the end of the corridor, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work for most of our stay.

The booking didn't say the rooms lacked private bathrooms, so I was surprised to find a dirty shared one. There was a smoky smell in the room, burnt electrical wires, and nowhere to put clothes, not even a closet, chair, or hook. We had to use the door and window handles. I think this is one of the worst places in Nice.

Villa "My Dream" felt more like Villa "My Nightmare". The curtains or shutters weren’t in good condition, so daylight came in at dawn. Handles came off in our hands, the minibar listed on Booking wasn’t there, and there was no furniture, not even a chair for our clothes. The television didn’t work either. We were given keys that were useless and told all the doors would be locked at 9 p.m. But when we got there around 10 p.m., every door was wide open and nobody was watching our belongings. It stayed that way throughout our visit. Booking wouldn’t let us cancel, and the fees weren’t refunded. It felt like tourists were being treated like idiots, with only the money they bring in mattering. A guaranteed catastrophe, and not worth the star I gave it. We bitterly regret not paying a few euros more for a hotel. A small update: the gentleman probably read my review and came to put curtains in the room, which was kind of him. But after our excursion, we found the door unlocked. If anything was stolen, I hope he’ll cover the cost.
