We stayed at the Goldstar Hotel for six nights, mainly because it offered parking and was close to the promenade. The room was spacious, clean, and had a good-sized bathroom. Since our October stay was outside the air conditioning season, the system only heated, but fortunately there was a portable fan in the closet. Renovation work on the elevators had covered the lobby, so there was nowhere to sit there, and we could only use the service elevator. Breakfast was at the hotel across the road, Best Western Plus Hôtel Brice Garden Nice, which also shares the parking. It has a nice garden, comfortable seating spots, and a bar. One thing to know if you're driving: bring a small, low car. At reception, we were surprised to learn that room cleaning was only included once during our six days. That hadn't been mentioned in the booking. I think the hotel should have told us about the renovation, or offered compensation. If we'd known, we probably would have changed the booking if possible. We won't be back.

The staff were polite and professional, and I really liked them. The hotel itself was a different story. It's very old and dated, and the room felt used and unpleasant. The air conditioning didn't work at all, so I was unbearably hot through the night. The place needs a major refresh. I don't understand how it got four stars or why the rooms still cost so much. The photos online don't match how it looks now.

I really liked this apartment in Nice. There was lots of living space, good-sized bathrooms, a separate toilet, and a decent bed in the spacious bedroom. The location was great too, with the promenade just down the road, the station a little further up, and restaurants about ten minutes away.

I don't recommend this hotel. They cancelled my reservation two days before arrival because one of the forms was missing my last name. They didn't call or email to check with me, only sent the cancellation by mail. I was travelling and didn't see it, so when we arrived there was no room for the first night and we had to stay in a hostel. They found us accommodation for the remaining nights. The rooms had no air conditioning, and it was very hot. Instead of switching it on, they gave us a small fan. The shower had no curtain either, so water flooded the bathroom after use. There are much better places to stay, so avoid this hotel.

The location was ideal, with easy access to all the services, and we had a very pleasant stay. The advertised rooftop pool wasn't there, though.
