The Roman Baths were so relaxing, and we enjoyed exploring the different areas at our own pace. The fitness classes helped us work off our jetlag, and all the instructors were kind and inviting. Being up on the hill gave the hotel a peaceful, tucked-away feel in its own corner of Old Nice, while wine bars, great restaurants, and public transport were only steps away. That location was the cherry on top of our stay. This was the first stop of our honeymoon and really set the mood for the rest of the trip. The staff were warm and happy to help without hovering. The grounds were beautiful, and the tribute to the history of the land felt thoughtful, from the fruit and vegetables sourced on site to the bakeshop and tea room. Our spacious room had a minimal, luxurious style, with details that made it feel warm. Hotel du Couvent is a rare place, unassuming but clearly intentional, and an unforgettable start to our honeymoon.

We spent two nights in the lovely Suite du Couvent. It was very spacious, with a beautiful courtyard and a great location. There were some unsteady steps between the bathroom and the bedroom/sitting room, plus a low doorway, but otherwise it was very nice. It's a beautiful conversion of a convent that still has that convent feel, along with a luxurious atmosphere and amenities.

The hotel looks lovely and I liked its design, but the price feels too high for what you get. The rooms seemed smaller than the online photos suggested, and there wasn't a TV. Anyone could access the hallway and elevator, which also concerned us. For one night, we were charged €98 for one pet and €60 for parking. Then we found a charge for somebody else's breakfast on our bill. It took three emails and two phone calls to get that refunded, which left me wondering whether this happens to other guests too.

The old convent's character is still there, paired with a simple, elegant look and some tasteful luxury. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with a good mix of old charm and modern comforts. What really made the stay special was the team. Everyone we met, from the front door security staff to reception and the bar, was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to welcome us. A special thanks to the reception and bar staff for being so kind and professional. We can't wait to come back.

The best part of our trip was staying at Hotel Du Couvent. It has the feel of a country retreat, but as soon as you're outside, restaurants and cute little shops are just steps away. We walked along the promenade and hiked up Castle Hill, though I could happily have spent the whole time at the hotel instead. Thanks to the visionary who made this place such a treat for the senses. I loved relaxing in the courtyard with a glass of wine and olives, enjoying the quiet. The staff seemed lively and happy in their jobs, and their convent-style outfits suited the place. The restaurant, bar, and bakery all served great food. Breakfast was simple and just right, and I can't imagine a better omelet. Room service was excellent too. Don't miss the rice pudding after 11 pm. The pool is reached by walking up, with a view down over old Nice. From the steps at the entrance to everything you see and touch inside, the place feels special. The spa was outstanding, and the rooms were plain and simple in style but still wonderfully luxurious. It's so good that it may spoil your expectations for future hotels. I already hate how much it has raised my standards, and I'd go back to Nice just to stay here again.
