Ibis budget Nice Palais Nikaa

The staff were awful to deal with. They kept trying to charge fines for “shouting,” and the manager was rude and acted like a psycho. The bathroom and toilet had mold on the walls and a nasty, stinky smell. The hotel’s location felt close to a “ghetto,” and walking there at night seemed dangerous to my life. I spent a two-day weekend in Nice here, and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. NEVER VISIT THIS “HOTEL”!

The room was clean and the price was good. The garage is small, but felt very safe. Great spot for live shows.

We spent four nights here last summer before carrying on with our vacation, and we’ll come back. It’s a quiet area, the hotel was clean, and the staff were kind. Breakfast was a fun place to meet people from all over and chat. It’s well placed for exploring Nizza by metro or driving along the coast, and the price was good in high season when similar hotels cost more.

The check-in and checkout were smooth, but the way our complaint was handled left us very unhappy, and we wouldn’t stay here again. We arrived at Room No. 310 to find the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. After it had been running for over an hour, the room was still hot, even though the corridor felt cooler. The receptionist insisted the cooling was “normal,” then said “every room is like that” when we raised it again after leaving the AC on for more than six hours. He dismissed us, wasn’t polite, and struggled to understand or communicate in English. We asked to change rooms and were first told the hotel was fully booked. That didn’t seem true, as the hotel looked less than half occupied. After we kept asking, they moved us to Room No. 302, where the air conditioning worked properly and the room was much better. The response felt dishonest and dismissive, with little courtesy or professionalism. The hotel is very close to the airport, which is convenient, but the poor service and misleading communication were disappointing.
