Le "Cronstadt"

We stayed for a week and had no complaints. The host was the best, and the small rooms were clean, in a quaint setting. It was a perfect place to rest between outings, and so close to the beach.

We stayed just one night to add an extra day to our visit in Nice. The madam has a quirky spirit and does her best to look after guests. You're less than five minutes from the beach, and the room has air conditioning. There's also a serve-yourself Nespresso machine in the dining area for morning coffee. The hotel is what it is, and works fine if you mainly need a place to sleep or nap between outings. It's quite dark inside and a bit spooky, but I think that adds to its charm, like being in a time before electric lights, with only gas lamps. The piano in the dining area, just behind reception, had me imagining the parties that might have taken place there long ago. The Shining came to mind. On checkout day, the madam let us leave our car in the garage so we could spend another full day at the beach. It cost €20, but was well worth it. I'd stay again. Also, five stars because they're dog friendly!

Joanna, the hotel manager, is a gracious hostess, friendly, very knowledgeable, helpful, and wonderful to meet. The hotel is in an excellent location, with lovely rooms and a delicious breakfast. Even though it's close to busier streets, my room was very quiet.

The room was big, and the location was good and quiet.
