Hôtel Le Royal

The Promenade des Anglais location makes this hotel especially appealing. It's easy to relax here, take an evening walk by the sea, go for a swim in the morning, or head out on excursions along the French Riviera towards Monaco or the charming hilltop villages above Cannes. The breakfasts are delightful, and the staff are welcoming and attentive. Our clients often stay here, and whenever we ask how it was, we hear the same thing: they had a wonderful stay.

The service was genuinely lovely, and the location is easily five stars. My room was much larger than I expected, clean, and had no smell. It may not feel like luxury, but it definitely had more than I needed. I'd read lots of bad reviews on Google and booking.com and was worried, but my stay turned out really well. In my opinion, the price is very good compared with nearby hotels. It's still a great hotel, and I don't think you'll go wrong staying here.

The corridors are so worn that the floors are uneven, and the whole place feels like it’s falling apart. Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the bathroom was dirty from floor to ceiling, just as the pictures show. There’s no room service, not even for a bottle of water. For what it costs, it’s far too expensive.

That view was spectacular, and the room turned out to be larger than we expected. Breakfast was good quality, though I’d have liked more variety. The butter was the best we’ve ever tasted. The room carpet wasn’t great, and the bathroom setup was odd: no shower door and poor drainage, so water ran onto the carpet.
