LOCATION VACANCES NICE - Villa 5* Nice St Pancrace

The house has an alarm system, which deserves a star. That was the only point in its favor for us. The place was nowhere near five-star luxury, and this was not a relaxing holiday. We have stayed in several rentals, but never one so neglected and run-down. If it is being sold as luxury, it needs a thorough renovation and a much better clean. I also don’t understand where all the positive reviews come from. The downstairs rooms had a musty, moldy smell that remained even after we aired them out. Nearby dogs barked constantly, including at night, and there weren’t even two keys for a full house of eight people. At checkout we felt treated like thieves, despite having paid several thousand for the stay plus a deposit. They counted almost every Tupperware container and even turned on the TV to test it. There were only French channels, and the rest required payment. The furnishings were mostly worn out and badly in need of replacement. The patio chairs were filthy and scratched, and the kitchen dishes were greasy and seemed poorly washed. Only two huge pans worked on the induction hob; the others were unsuitable. Wine glasses were piled in a drawer, and there were lots of plastic containers and Ikea cutlery. The fridge was noisy and rusty on the outside. The garden barely deserves the name, with patches of plastic artificial grass. The pool looked neglected and wasn’t cleaned during our stay. Its loungers were old and dirty, with no cushions, and the two camping loungers were about what you’d expect for the place. This accommodation is certainly not luxurious, and I couldn’t even give it three stars.
