We came all the way from the UK for the carnival and left really disappointed with how it was run. The location itself was okay, but there was almost no information about opening night. The website clearly said entry was free that day and said nothing about tickets, yet once we got in the queue, it turned out everyone had tickets. They also blocked the view from the sides and held the carnival in a staged, very exclusive area. People may say we should have bought tickets in advance, but that wasn't what the website indicated.

We were only in Nice for 2.5 days, but I'd happily come back to this area. There are lots of shops and restaurants, and live music regularly. The old city is very close, as is the castle hill, and I highly recommend both, along with the beach. We could walk everywhere we wanted because our hotel was close to the water and Nice Massena. We didn't find out whether Uber was readily available here. As English speakers, we found it easy to communicate.

It's usually busy, but there are lots of places to sit, and the metro makes getting here pretty easy. There are often artists performing music, too. If you're on the French Riviera, you really have to visit Nice and this place.

There’s a lot to do and see here. You can get around the city easily by bus, and visit Massena square, Garibaldi Square, the old city centre, the castle, and the English promenade. The place itself is beautiful, with plenty of restaurants, bars open into the night, and markets for clothes and souvenirs. You must go!
