Nice Centre Hotel

Service was consistently good during our three nights in a Privilege Room in late September 2025. Check-in and checkout were pleasant, housekeeping staff were friendly, and reception usually greeted us warmly. They were happy to suggest restaurants and things to do in the city. We also had no noise problems. The room was generally nice, but the air conditioning didn’t work, the toilet button was loose, and the hair dryer wouldn’t blow hot air. None was a deal breaker, but at this price and with a 4-star rating, these things shouldn’t be happening. The bed was extremely firm. It suited me, but anyone who prefers a softer mattress should know that. The location and service made the stay enjoyable, though the maintenance issues and bed comfort didn’t quite match the price or 4-star promise. I still recommend the hotel, but realistic expectations may make the stay more enjoyable.

We’ve stayed at Mercure Nice Notre Dame several times and usually leave satisfied. This visit was disappointing in some ways, but it remains our go-to in Nice after trying other hotels. The location is excellent, with restaurants and shops around it and the beach a short walk away. Reception, especially Walid, was attentive and listened. He made our week easier, finding us a quieter room despite the street works and outside noise, and handled several issues kindly and efficiently. The rooftop bar was a very different experience. When I asked for a small favor, the young man working there was unhelpful and somewhat arrogant. We had our drinks and left quickly, and it was an unpleasant moment. Housekeeping was generally good but missed a few details that felt below the hotel’s category. Those oversights were corrected promptly. It’s clear someone in charge cares about the business and keeps things running.

The staff were polite and professional, and the hotel was clean, which was the main thing for us. The bed was comfortable too. Unfortunately, someone on our floor kept smoking, and the smell travelled across the corridor and faintly into our room, disturbing our sleep. It seemed more serious than it was, and the hotel couldn’t really have dealt with it at that moment. The location is convenient for the station and a short walk from the tram interchange to the airport. It’s a moderate 20-minute walk to the seafront and old town.

Our room at Hôtel Mercure Nice Centre Notre-Dame was comfortable and nice, and we had a good stay overall. Breakfast gets a solid 4 out of 5. The roadworks right outside made drop-off a bit inconvenient. Overall, I’d give it 4/5.
