Residhome Nice Promenade

The room was clean when we arrived, and the location was convenient, but I wouldn't come back. The rooms feel quite old and need renovating. Changing towels or sheets costs extra, and we hadn't been told cleaning only happens once every 7 days. There are extra charges even for things like not cleaning the small kitchenette. Check carefully what's included in the price before you book.

The security guy was nice. The rest of the staff came across as arrogant, and I'd tell people to stay away if they don't want to feel scammed. Booking said parking was provided, but when we got there the woman at the counter said none was available and told us we should have called to book it separately. We also paid more than the price shown on the booking. The room was okay, except the sheets were stained. There were four of us but only two sets of towels. When we brought it up, they didn't believe us and mockingly told us to check every dresser. We had already done that. The balcony had no roof, so we couldn't enjoy it in the rain. We went for the all-you-can-eat breakfast at 17€, but it was a big disappointment and not worth the price. At checkout they charged us more for some “extra services”. First they said it was breakfast and city tax, which we'd paid on arrival, and then they said it was all breakfast. The figures just didn't add up, and we never got a receipt breaking down the service charges.

We were very happy with our stay and enjoyed everything. It's a great place, and I highly recommend it. The only small problem was the dishwasher, which left dishes dirty, so we had to wash them by hand.

It's a 5 min walk to the beach, and being a little out of the way kept things quieter, which I liked. The rooms were clean and comfortable. You can walk to the old town or main area of Nice in 15 to 30 min, if you're okay with that. There's parking, though the spaces are really tight to get in and out of.
