Slo Nice

The shared rooms were nice and gave you plenty of privacy. The curtains do mean the beds can get warm and stuffy pretty quickly, though. Otherwise the rooms were perfect. Some of the bathrooms had drainage problems in the sinks and showers. The hostel staff were welcoming and super helpful when I had questions or wanted recommendations.

The lockers were so small that hardly anyone could fit their things in them, and my 40L bag didn’t fit when I booked a 10-bed dorm. You also have to pay to store luggage, which is weird for a hostel. Otherwise, no complaints: the place was clean and the service was okay. I’d recommend it as long as you know your bag won’t fit in the lockers.

The location is beautiful, close to cathedrals, the promenade, beach, shopping, and train and bus stations. The accommodations were lovely and the place immaculate. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable, and handled maintenance concerns very quickly. I’d definitely stay again and have recommended it to other travelers. The bunks had blackout curtains, sheets and a duvet comforter. I also appreciated the mirrored cabinet with an outlet and lock, and the locking drawer for my things. The optional basement lockers were a lifesaver for extra storage and after checkout, since I had a late flight.

The check-in was seamless, but you don’t get the details until 15 minutes before your assigned time. Since everything is online, you need to have mobile data available. The apartment was very clean, well equipped, and had a comfortable bed. It was ideally placed for exploring Nice and farther afield, with the train station a short walk away. The upstairs neighbors were rather noisy after dark, and there was quite a bit of street noise too, though that’s not unexpected in a city.
