Hotel Solara

Galina and Jean-Louis give this lovely place its own warm atmosphere. The room, location, and service were all perfect, and I felt at home. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back next time, hopefully soon. Thank you.

The reception team were lovely and helpful, and they kept our bags for us. Our room was clean, though pretty basic, and the double had a nice little balcony. The lift is as tiny as people say, so we ended up taking the five flights of stairs. The location is hard to beat, right in the centre and close to the beach, yet still quiet. Great value for the spot, and I’d stay here again next time I’m in Nice.

I felt safe coming back late because the area was busy and had plenty of people around. The hotel is right on Nice’s main street, and the beach is only a short walk away. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Just be aware that it can get pretty noisy late at night if you’re sensitive to sound.

The room was a real highlight. I booked a double with a balcony, and both the room and bathroom were a decent size. The balcony was quite large too. Jean welcomed me so warmly on my first visit and gave me a map with the main sights marked on it. It was easy to get around from this central location, not far from Nice Ville station, and there are some great places to eat nearby. I had breakfast at Le Grand Cafe and dinner at Rina, and enjoyed both. A note if you're arriving around noon: reception is open until noon in the morning, and they may be able to hold your luggage if you message ahead to ask. At the airport, Tram Line 2 takes you to the city center. I bought a £10 return ticket for my flights. The closest stop is "Jean Médecin", then it's about a six-minute walk to the hotel.
