Hôtel Abalone

The staff were welcoming and very helpful, and the hotel is right by the train station. For the price I paid and its star rating, the amenities and cleanliness were what you'd expect. I'd definitely stay again.

It's a great spot for visiting Nîmes, and I've stayed twice. Both times, though, the experience was the same: very hard beds and an interior that's quite worn. Breakfast was okay, but a croissant and a mini baguette felt like a bit little for an adult. You may also end up smelling your room neighbors' joints all night. I won't be back.

The rooms were poor, with no air conditioning, scary paintings, and no room service. The host also treated us very unprofessionally. We felt the tone was discriminatory toward foreigners, and he refused to help or provide another room. After we complained, he said we were disturbing him while he worked on paperwork. I never thought this kind of hospitality could exist in France. Avoid this hotel if you want a good trip to Nimes.

A simple, cozy room in a lovely setting, right next to the historic center of town. The service and food are always great, and the people still have their charm. Worth spending time and money here, but take the time to meet the local people.
