We appreciated having a secure spot to leave our bikes. The room was clean, with a lovely view over the main square and church, and there’s a quiet courtyard. Getting to it means climbing a steep spiral staircase, so packing light helped us. The location was great.

We stayed for three nights and would gladly come back. The hosts were attentive and extremely friendly, and breakfast came with generous portions of local bread. Our spacious, comfortable room looked onto a courtyard with tables, chairs, and beautiful roses. The town is quiet, with plenty of restaurants nearby. There are a few parking spaces in front, or a larger, safe car park one street away. The hotel is well placed between Beaune and Cluny, and close to Autun. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room stayed quiet even though the Place was lively on the evening we arrived, with a great DJ at the local bar. This is a village inn, not a five-star hotel, with a charming exterior facing the central Place de la Halle and its 14c covered market hall. Our chambre bourgignonne was small and simple, but clean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished with an old armoire and desk. Madame welcomed us warmly. Breakfast in the lovely garden was good, with bread, croissant, yoghurt, and fruit salad. The spiral steps up to the rooms are steep, so they’re not suitable for people with disabilities.
