A comfortable place to stay, and the lodging prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Bernard gave us a very warm welcome, and the location is quiet. The bed was big and comfortable, and the room had useful things like a kettle and hairdryer. We recommend staying here if you need somewhere in the area.

I was looking for a place to stay near Aubigny-sur Nère in the Cher department, and this one was exceptional. Stuartlodge is in the countryside, 6 km from Aubigny. Bernard, the owner, welcomed us; he’s a gentleman. My wife and I had the whole house to ourselves. It’s peaceful and enchanting, and everything has been thought through. The bathroom is spacious enough, the sitting room is lovely, and the kitchen is large and fully equipped. There’s a table set up like a bistro counter between the kitchen, bedroom, and sitting room, plus a table and chairs outside. The bed deserves a mention of its own. It’s among the two most comfortable beds I’ve ever had on my travels, and saying that should help me avoid a lawsuit! The bedroom has top comfort and what I’d call royal-quality bedding. It’s such a pleasure to stay here. Nearby are Aubigny-sur-Nère and the beautiful Château de la Verrière. The afternoon light there is fantastic, and I’d recommend taking the tour. The history is fascinating, guaranteed on the invoice! It’s also called Château des Stuart. Bernard has the air of a châtelain. He’s a very appealing character, discreet and with a story of his own. This place is a must in the Cher.

We stayed one night in this cottage and got a very warm welcome. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was generous with a good variety. The nature around it is charming and peaceful. Just be aware that 4G reception is very weak or nonexistent, though the signal isn't why we come to this lovely place among the fields. We'll happily return.
