Hôtel d’Olivet Orléans Sud

We stopped for one night on the way to our holiday resort, splitting the drive because we were traveling with our two-year-old. The beds were stained, the floor sticky and clearly hadn't been mopped in weeks. One side of the bathroom door had come loose, making it hard to open properly. There were three beds but only two pillows, and the receptionist would rather watch football on television than check guests in. Glad it was only for one night. I wouldn't come back.

I rarely leave reviews, which I know isn't great since I only speak up when things go badly, but this hotel is one to avoid. The parking area looked more like a garbage dump. Two people were at reception; one didn't understand French, while the other was pleasant and took care of what was needed. In the room, the pillows made me wonder whether the sheets had been changed. The blind wouldn't come down with its cord, so I had to close it manually from outside. Adjusting the shower temperature was difficult, and I had to turn it off first. For heat, there was a small fan heater because the thermostat seemed broken. I won't be back.

The person on the evening shift was incredibly kind and helped me sort out an urgent problem. It made a real difference. Check-in in the afternoon was quick, with everything explained clearly and professionally. In the morning, the breakfast attendant had everything clean and well organized, making it a lovely start to the day. The service was excellent from morning to night, and I had a very pleasant stay.

My first impression was positive: the receptionist was friendly, the room and bathroom were spotless, and the towels and linens were clean. But that night I woke up with bed bugs crawling all over me. I counted about 30 bites, and they were still visible and itchy two days later. I'm lucky the bugs didn't leave with me on my clothes. They can stay there, but I won't return, and I don't recommend this hotel.
