Camping Milella

A quiet, pleasant campsite, with shaded tent spots protected from the wind. The staff were very friendly, and special thanks to the woman at reception for all her tips. There’s a store about five minutes away by car. The sanitary facilities are top-notch. Very good price too, €26 for a car, tent, two people and electricity.

Good pitches with water and electricity, and there’s a shared fridge and freezer that was almost empty at this time of year. You can order lovely croissants for the morning. The campsite is across the road from a beach, though the beach was just okay and there was a lot of debris in the water. The Bulgarian woman at reception was so nice when we arrived and very friendly.

The campsite is shady and sheltered from strong winds, and the staff at both the site and restaurant were friendly. But our experience was affected by an overbooking. We’d reserved a pitch and didn’t get it, so we had to take a more expensive mobile home or have nowhere to stay that night. The mobile home itself was fine. We moved to the campsite the following night. Our pitch, C22, was rocky enough to damage our gear, and we couldn’t find a spot where we weren’t worried about holes in the tent floor or rocks hurting our backs. After a lot of effort we got the tent up, but it was still on rocks. The drain by the campsite smelled awful on the first night, and the smell carried on for the next three nights. It was disgusting. The bathroom and toilets didn’t seem to be cleaned more than once. Dirt from one evening was still there the next morning, and the same dirty marks stayed on the walls all three days. The bins still had the previous day’s rubbish. Cleanliness felt like a gamble. It was acceptable overall, but cleaning needs more attention given how many people use the facilities. I never saw staff cleaning there, and there was no visible notice showing when or by whom they’d last been cleaned.

The staff were exceptionally kind. We were walking the Mare a Mare, and they even offered to pick us up after the last stage. Our pitch was lovely, with a shed that gave us shade. The sanitary facilities were very clean, and the bar was a cosy place to have a drink. The sea is an easy walk away. A great experience, and thanks for having us!
