Alysson Hôtel

The receptionist was kind and helpful, and even offered us little toiletries after we asked about the shower gel. We declined since we had brought our own. The room was spacious, but the basics felt below what I expect from a four-star hotel. The bedding wasn’t very comfortable, the mattress was really hard, and there was an unpleasant smell. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body lotion. We were told the shower gel was meant to work as hand wash, body wash and shampoo, which seemed doubtful. I could see little difference from an ibis or another two- or three-star place. It was far from what we expected.

The receptionist was incredibly kind. I was having a bad day and she noticed straight away, checking more than once if there was anything she could do. When my key card wouldn’t open the room, they sorted it out quickly. My room looked out over the pool, which was lovely. The rooms are clean and nice, though a bit worn. Dinner tasted good, but the portions were small. Breakfast had a generous spread and lots of fresh fruit, which you don’t often see.

The team were friendly and helpful, and Oloron town is close enough to explore easily. I was there for just two nights on a business trip. The rooms were very good, and there’s a pool too. Breakfast is served in a smaller room just past reception.

We stay here regularly on business trips and have always been very satisfied.
