Dinner at Belle de Nuit was such a special experience. Roger, the resident host and waiter, was charming, while his wife Laura cooks a beautiful meal each night. The duck confit, mashed sweet potatoes, and fresh green beans with garlic were all amazing and perfectly cooked. Apple crisp for dessert made it feel like a real home-cooked meal.

We came back after three years and Laurie still remembered we’re vegetarians, adapting breakfast and dinner for us. That was so thoughtful. The nights are perfectly quiet, and there are lots of nice touches, like very thick towels, a fridge for our own use, and an excellent table d'hôtes on certain days. Breakfast has plenty of delicious choices, and the owners are friendly and helpful. The old building has spacious rooms with lovely old-style decor, and their trip advice was really useful. Even after staying in lots of places across Europe, this is our favourite accommodation ever.

Roger and Laurie were wonderful hosts, and the food was delicious. We had a relaxed, very affordable three-course prix fixe dinner in Oppede le vieux, in a tiny 400 year old bakery that’s been turned into a residence and dining room. It was a lovely, intimate meal and a highlight even among the Michelin starred restaurants we visited. We’ll be back!

The restaurant was the highlight for us, with some of the best lamb we’ve ever had. We spent three really nice days here exploring the Luberon area. The house was nice and clean, and breakfast was good. Highly recommended!
