The hosts communicated superbly, and the property was spotless. It’s in a perfect location, and even had a proper kettle so us Brits could make a decent cup of tea.

We arranged in advance for our dog to come along, and that was allowed. The accommodation is right in the centre. It has a large street-facing living room with a kitchen, plus two bedrooms: one with a double bed and no window, and another at the back with two single beds and a window. There’s also a separate shower and toilet room, with a window at the back.

The welcome was excellent, and the gîte makes a good impression. Its central location is handy for exploring Orléans on foot. One bedroom has no window, so it can’t be aired out, and the TV is temperamental, sometimes impossible to use. With only one bathroom and no separate toilet, it’s ideal for a couple but less comfortable for two.
