Gite Chaneü

I felt at home here, and the garden has lovely views. It's clean, well equipped, and comfortable, with a great location for hiking. Thank you, Christelle and Aurelie, for such a lovely stay, and thanks to Christelle for suggesting a visit to Lac du Montagnon. Your place is truly a gem.

Getting here was easy: it's an undemanding 20-minute walk from Bedous station, so public transport works well. The bus from Bedous to Canfranc is also worth taking, with a scenic ride through the valley to Spain and the huge, eccentric old station there. I really loved my stay at Gite Chaneu. Eagles overhead, cowbells drifting across the meadows, and mountain views made it feel like the perfect antidote to a stressful world. Christel and Aurelie welcomed me so warmly that I felt relaxed straight away, more like I was visiting friends in their lovely country house. Everything was clean and well looked after. There's a large kitchen you can use whenever you need it, plus hot showers after a long day hiking or travelling. It was the highlight of my trip to France, and I really hope I get to return soon. I spent three great days here. The place was kept to a high standard of cleanliness, and the people working here were helpful whenever I asked about hiking trails.

We came as a family at the start of the new year and had a wonderful experience at the gîte. Claire welcomed us warmly and gave us helpful advice, and the village was so charming. A big thank you to her for the hospitality. We'll be back!
