The outdoor space and the mountain view were the best parts for us. We had many peaceful nights barbecuing and looking up at the stars. Inside, it could use a general revamp, though it’ll do for a short holiday in the Pays Basque.

There’s lots to do nearby, and the view is breathtaking. The house is very well looked after, and the new owners are lovely and helpful.

“False advertising!!!” I expected a cottage and found it even better than I’d hoped. It’s comfortable, kept in excellent condition and decorated with taste. Our spacious room was quiet and spotless, with everything needed to feel at home, and we slept very well among the greenery and beautiful scenery. The owners were lovely from the moment we arrived, welcoming us simply and warmly. Their sightseeing advice and local favorites made the trip even nicer. The setting is authentic and peaceful, with the sea and mountains both accessible, and pretty villages, wonderful hikes and good restaurants nearby. It worked just as well for relaxing as for exploring the Basque Country. We left with great memories and would love to return soon. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet in the heart of the Basque Country. ❤️

This was five years ago, and it was a terrible stay. The place was very dirty, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and when we arrived, people could see in through the windows, so we had to cover them with sheets. We’d booked a week but left after four days. The lady got angry when we left and didn’t refund us anything. It was really depressing. I hope any new owners are much better than the previous ones.

There are plenty of nearby walks with superb views across the Basque Country, and the cottage is set up for full self-catering with a well-equipped kitchen. It sleeps five or six and is rented by the week. Patrice and Bernadette, the new owners, gave us a wonderful welcome. I highly recommend it.
