Hotel Roses

We booked the family suite for four adults in December 2025. It had plenty of space, with three rooms, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. Set beside the river and cathedrals in the “aldt stadt”, it’s in a charming, quiet part of town, away from the busy markets and near several restaurants. You need to book restaurants ahead. We felt safe walking around at all hours while exploring this beautiful town, which has plenty to see. The trams and canal boats are great ways to get around. Breakfast had a full range of options for different tastes, though the dining area is compact. The online listing showed a kitchenette in the family suite, but there was no equipment in it. That was exceptionally disappointing and misleading.

I got lucky finding such a quiet hotel. It was far enough from the touristy cathedral square to be peaceful, but still close enough to walk there. Strasbourg’s transit system is amazing too, so I could have stayed farther out and still gotten around easily.

We planned one night and wound up staying three, partly because the prices were very reasonable. This charming hotel is ideally placed in the heart of Strasbourg’s old town, beside the river, with excellent service and a warm, welcoming feel. Public parking across the street costs about €20 a day. After check-in we didn’t need the car, since everything we wanted to see was within walking distance.
