The homemade fig jam, fresh eggs, and tomatoes were a real treat. Thanks, Lee and David, for such a lovely stay at Maison Metcalf. We arrived with the in-laws and kids after a hot day of travel, and the house was cool and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and relaxing, and we were soon in our swimming gear enjoying the pool before a BBQ in the orchard garden. There was plenty of light in the living room, and the kitchen was well equipped for a big group. Everyone had room to gather, but there were quiet corners for different generations to get away too. The house book was brilliant, with useful ideas and tips for lots of activities.

Rosie the goat was very friendly, and we had loads of fun in the games room with darts, table football, and table tennis. The lounge had plenty of books and games, plus blankets, and we could use the fridge and kettle in the dining room. Breakfast was delicious and changed a little each day. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, with plenty of hanging space. The guest house sits in a small village with lovely countryside all around, and the hosts made us feel very welcome.

We woke to birdsong and breakfast downstairs, which was a lovely start to the day. My husband and I only stayed for the weekend, but the place was charming and pleasant, and the owners were so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. Merci beaucoup!!

The garden and pool were great, and there were good indoor spaces for entertaining too. It was a perfect rural spot for our group of 16, including six little kids.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful that we'll definitely visit again. It's a beautiful old building with lovely gardens, set in countryside that looks like a postcard.
