Appartement Place de la Madeleine

After checkout, the hotel accused me of taking mugs and water bottles from the room and charged me over 80 euros. They took the money without telling me, then sent an invoice only after I emailed to ask about the charge. I would never take anything from a room after paying a 100 euro security deposit at check-in. I’ve reported the hotel to my credit card company. This felt very deceitful, and I don’t recommend the hotel at all. We stayed in the duplex room. For a four-star hotel, the bathroom was terrible, more like a two-star standard. The heating in the sitting room didn’t work and staff didn’t fix it after I reported it. The lighting in there was very poor too, and that wasn’t resolved either.

Getting trapped in the elevator was frightening and completely unacceptable at a hotel that claims to provide quality service. Afterward there wasn’t any compensation, apology, or even a goodwill gesture. The staff showed very poor service and seemed unconcerned about our safety or comfort. Guest well-being clearly wasn’t a priority. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are many other places with much better service, safety, and respect for guests.

The staff were pleasant and kind, which isn’t so typical for Paris. The managers gave us a lovely welcome, with macaroons and champagne in the room. Our room was large by Paris standards, where even three- and four-star hotels often have very small rooms, and cleanliness was excellent. The window looked out on magnificent Madeleine Church. A metro station is right next door, and it’s easy to get anywhere in central Paris. Great hotel in a great location. Good luck for the future!

We got a deluxe room with a fantastic view, and the two ladies at the entrance counter were nice and explained everything to me in English. The hotel is right by a metro station and some great cafes. You can also pay extra to check in early, at 10 am. Best hotel, best location. I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Paris.
