WARNING, this looks very likely to be a scam, so I strongly advise avoiding it if you don’t want to be scammed. We had a terrible experience. The apartment was on the fifth floor with no elevator, and the photos showed a different place. The person working there insulted us in French, apparently assuming we wouldn’t understand. I filed a complaint, and several weeks later my card was hit with a charge called “BOOKING LITIGE CLIENT.” Booking.com confirmed the charge wasn’t from them. I strongly suspect the establishment retaliated. If this happened to you too, please report it so these practices can be exposed.
If you’re mainly going to the Louvre, the location is excellent. We had arrived during football, but the area was still quiet and peaceful. I rented the apartment through Booking.com for three nights and got the instructions a day ahead. Check-in was at 4:00 p.m.; we landed in Paris at 11:50 p.m., walked from the bus depot and got there at 3:00 a.m. We entered the door code, climbed the spiral stairs to the fourth floor, then used the code on the key holder at the door. The place looked almost exactly like the pictures and had Bosch appliances, including a microwave, oven and electric stove, along with a refrigerator, dishwasher, sofa bed, washer and dryer. The floors hadn’t been cleaned, but since we were only staying overnight, everything was fine.
The photos aren’t accurate, though the apartment itself is still a bright, cozy Parisian penthouse with a small loggia. We were there as a family with two kids. It was clean and fully equipped with the appliances we needed, and self check-in was easy. The spot is great, on a quiet side street, and everything from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower is walkable. It was very good value, and we’d definitely stay again.
After I told the owner the apartment was filthy and asked for my money back, he refused. I couldn’t keep my family there, so we went to another hotel. We were three adults, a nine-year-old and a two-month-old baby, and the place was completely uninhabitable. The owner had said we could check in at 2:00 p.m., then promised someone would come clean that afternoon, but I couldn’t leave my children in such a disgusting apartment while waiting. I’d told them a week before arrival that we’d have a baby with us, and they still hadn’t cleaned it. Now the owner isn’t responding or refunding me, so I’m going to take legal action. Thank goodness I could afford another hotel; otherwise, I’d have been left without a place to stay with my nine-year-old and two-month-old. This is a scam, and he won’t even face the consequences. I’m attaching photos and plan to share them on social media because I don’t want more families getting scammed. He’s a con artist who ruins people’s trips. Shame on eDreams for not checking these services. Google won’t let me upload the photos, but I’m happy to send them to anyone who needs them.
I had a very unpleasant experience and wouldn’t recommend booking here. The owner ignored all my requests to change the dates, and every other message got no response either. But when I asked for free cancellation, they refused straight away. It felt like they only replied when it suited them. They’re irresponsible and hard to reach, so if anything goes wrong, expect to be left waiting until the last minute.
