The station is in a good spot and has useful information boards. The Metro is right there, and you can also catch the Eurostar to England. Scooters are available to rent, which is handy. Outside, though, the migrants selling cigarettes made the area feel scary.

The toilets were clean, though a bit cramped, and cost €1 per person. There are cafes, food places, and shops for a quick bite or drink, but it all feels crowded and rushed. With children, we could manage, but had to keep a close eye on them and didn't want to linger. We came through Gare du Nord several times and entered from different sides. Its exterior is striking, with grand historic architecture, stonework, and statues that feel like a proper entrance to Paris. Inside, the pace changes: large open areas fill with people moving in every direction, and it can feel overwhelming at busy times. There are plenty of entrances and good links to trains, the Metro, and Eurostar. The signs are there, but you need to stay alert, especially if the layout is new to you, so allow extra time. It's an iconic, beautiful station outside and a hectic transport hub inside. Great for connections, as long as you're ready for the crowds.

There are lots of cafes and places to eat in and around Gare Du Nord, and the facility is very nice. I found it straightforward to reach my train on the way to Brussels, Belgium. Information is available in many languages, and there are plenty of rail workers to ask if you still need help. I'd definitely recommend the station.

A lovely Paris station, but the hall felt a little chaotic with so many people getting off trains and waiting to board. Trains to destinations across France and Europe leave from here. It's busy most of the time and there are all kinds of people around. I felt safe walking through, though I'd still stay aware.

The food and shopping are a real convenience here, with cafes, bakeries, and quick-service restaurants at different price points. Several shops open as early as 7 AM, which is useful if you're catching an early train or taking the RER to Disneyland and want breakfast first. Gare du Nord is a magnificent, historic part of Paris, full of energy and character. It also gets extremely crowded, especially during the morning rush, so watch your belongings and keep children close. The station is huge. With platforms, Metro lines, RER links, and international departures all under one roof, finding your way on a first visit can take full attention. Give yourself extra time, follow the signs, and ask staff if you need help. They're generally helpful, and the signs make more sense once you get your bearings. It's one of the city's most impressive and iconic stations, and you'll almost certainly pass through during a visit.
