Hôtel de Bellevue Gare du Nord

The location felt a little intimidating when we first arrived, but we had no trouble during our stay. Just walk with confidence and conviction, and no one will bother you. What made the visit especially good was the staff. They were friendly and very accommodating, and they let us keep my medication in the fridge. They took great care of it and always remembered our room number, whoever was at the desk. My partner and I felt welcome, and I want to thank the team for such a positive experience.

We were told to leave a deposit, which seemed reasonable, and assured it would be safe as long as we left the room as we found it. We stayed two nights and barely spent time there. When we checked out, we asked again and were told we'd get the deposit back once the room was inspected, by midday. That didn't happen. After weeks of chasing them, we were told the deposit was being kept because of noise complaints, even though that wasn't in the policy. It was meant to cover damage, and there was none. The whole thing felt very misleading, and the service was the worst I've encountered. The walls are so thin you can hear a toilet flush from the corridor. The rooms are extremely small, and the hotel itself wasn't pleasant, smelly, and not very clean. The area didn't feel nice or safe either.

We booked our room in May for an October stay, but were charged twice. When I reached out, the hotel denied that the payment had been duplicated, so keep your records and be careful. The hotel itself was fine, though it wasn't as convenient to Gare du Nord as I'd expected.

The room on the fourth floor was spotless, with fresh towels and bedding every day. It had a large, comfortable bed, a wet-room style shower, TV, safe, and tea and coffee making facilities, all at a reasonable price. Breakfast was mostly continental, served in a quirky underground dining room. From outside, the hotel is understated and almost easy to miss. The reception area could use redecorating, but the staff were all friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with whatever information we needed. Everyone greeted us with a smile, and the team clearly keeps the hotel running efficiently. It's less than a 20-minute walk from Gard du Nord and even closer to the nearest Metro. Some reviews mention safety in the area, but we never felt uneasy walking around, even at night. Thoroughly recommended. Excellent.
