De Lion D'Or

A clean room, strong Wi-Fi, good heating, a liter of water, and tea service made for a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly. The location is convenient for walking or taking the Metro, with the Louvre and Opera nearby and a Carrefour close by too. There's a small lift that fits one person with a small trolley or backpack. I'd stay here again, especially as a solo traveler.

The breakfast room was lovely, and for such a small hotel there was a pretty good choice of food. The coffee station in the room was nice, and the bathroom had an updated sink and a good shower. We barely interacted with staff, but when we did, they were pleasant and helpful. The place is an odd blend of old and new. The elevator is tiny, perhaps enough for two people without suitcases. Rooms are reached through two doors, the first opening into a narrow hallway and the second using a standard keycard. The rooms are small, more like a basic cruise ship cabin, with no fridge and an awkward closet. It had about a foot of space, reached from the side above the safe, which really annoyed my husband.

Our Airbnb plans fell through, so we booked Lion d’Or nearby at the last minute, just ten minutes before arriving. They were very kind and checked us in quickly. The room was really clean, and the beds were comfortable. We'll definitely stay again.

We left early for Disney, before breakfast service began, but the team thoughtfully packed us a picnic breakfast so we could start the day with something to eat. The buffet itself was fresh, continental, and replenished often. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating, and the beds were made and fresh towels supplied daily. Lion D'Or Louvre is a lovely little find, reasonably priced and perfectly placed for exploring central Paris. Our room, #501, was very clean. The bathroom was the one drawback: it was so small that the shower door couldn't open all the way unless the sliding doors were left open. Still, it's a small but perfectly formed hotel, and I'd gladly return or recommend it.
