Hotel Duminy Vendome

The breakfast buffet had excellent food and plenty to choose from. Staff were always friendly and helpful, ready to do anything for guests, but they also left you to yourself if that's what you wanted. The street is quiet, and the location is ideal for tourists: central enough to walk to most parts of Paris, if you like walking, with a metro station about four minutes away. My room was fresh, attractive, and modernised while still keeping old touches, like windows that open. I chose a larger room for a longer stay, though I've stayed in the smaller rooms before and found them fine for a short visit.

We felt completely ignored, treated like an invoice instead of guests. Our child was ill, so on Wednesday we emailed to cancel our Friday stay. We understand the hotel's strict 48-hour cancellation policy, but never got any response at all, not even an acknowledgement or guidance. We ended up using just one night and went home the next day, leaving the other night unused. At checkout we asked if the cost of that unused night could be reduced given the circumstances. Staff said clearly that they wouldn't lower the price under any conditions. Communication and care like this felt extremely unprofessional. A sick child isn't a standard cancellation situation, and a professional hotel should at least reply and try to find a reasonable solution. We won't return or recommend it to anyone expecting professionalism, empathy, and proper communication with guests.

We stayed for two nights, and it was cozy and comfortable for two people. The bed was a little stiff, but still better than some other Paris hotels I've stayed at. It was quiet and clean, with a bit more room than other hotel rooms. Thanks to the staff for making our visit easy. It's also convenient for shopping and museums.

The hotel is close to the main shopping street, and the Louvre is about a ten-minute walk away. It's somewhat small, but very clean. The elevator was a decent size for two people and their luggage, and our room was small but clean and new. My only issue was the shower temperature: it kept switching from hot to cold, and I couldn't get it set properly.
