Hôtel George - Astotel

The breakfast was delicious and had a decent range, probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in Paris. Our room was spacious for the city and thoughtfully laid out, so it felt stylish as well as comfortable and practical. The free minibar had no alcohol and was restocked daily. The staff were wonderful, and there are lots of nice little shops, restaurants, and bakeries nearby, with metro lines 12 and 2 close at hand.

The room was a little small, but clean and had everything I needed. It’s in a nice Paris neighborhood, near great restaurants, cafés, and bars, and about a 15-minute walk from Montmartre. I also really liked the hotel’s idea of letting guests pick up a drink or snack from other hotels in the chain. The hospitality was excellent.

The staff were all lovely, and breakfast came in a bright, high-ceilinged room with a good mix of sweet and savory choices, including hot food. Our room was small, as expected in Paris, but clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped, with comfortable beds. The included minibar had water, juice, and I think some fizzy drinks. We could hear water running when the room next door used its shower, but it didn’t bother us, and otherwise things were quiet. The bathroom fan may have been broken or just weak, since the mirror stayed steamed up for a while after showers. The hotel is in a beautiful old building, within walking distance of Montmartre and near several metro stations. I’d stay again.

The rooms are small but perfectly good. I liked the hotel’s setup: there’s a free minibar and snacks in the lobby, and guests can also visit the lobbies and offerings at the chain’s other hotels. It’s a fun way to explore Paris.
